Bed & Breakfast

In the center of the old cathedral town Roskilde lies a beautiful house from 1915 built in a classic mansion-style. A rare architectural gem in one of the nicest neighbourhoods in Roskilde.

Slottets Bed and Breakfast has two lovely rooms: King Arthur’s Room (30 square meters), and Queen Quincey’s Room (34 square meters). Both have their own entrance, a shared tea-kitchen, bathroom and WC.

Slottets Bed and Breakfast is 5 min. from the center of the city and 5 min. walk from the train station.

We are in one of Denmark’s oldest cities, beautifully situated by Roskilde Fjord and the benchmark of Roskilde are the 3 cathedral spire high above the city.

Roskilde is rich in historical and cultural attractions. Roskilde Cathedral is on UNIESCO’s World Heritage List. All the Danish kings and queens are buried here, while at the Viking Ship Museum, only 10 minutes walk away, the five original Viking ships can be seen. On the boatyard they build new boats by ancient techniques, and in the harbour you find the museum’s boat collection. In the summer time the turists are invited on a trip with the viking ships.

Roskilde Fjord may also be experienced on board the floating restaurant Sagafjord where you can enjoy lunch or dinner between islets and islands.

Boserup Forest, located on the shoreline of the fjord, invites you to a walk or a jog, or you can take a picnic break when touring around the area.

The old gaswork is now housing one of Roskilde’s many art galleries, a glassblower, a textile artist, etc.

In the center you find the pedestrian zone and town square offering market every Wednesday and Saturday

Culture flourishes year round, and the city offeres one of the richest musical life in Denmark – from Roskilde Festival, Roskilde Jazz Days and summer concerts at the cathedral organ.

If you’re more into classical music Roskilde offers the Schubertiade – a classical annual open-air festival and open-air opera concerts at “Hedeland”.

Or you can experience openair concerts in the royal surroundings of Ledreborg Castle.

If you are more into the four-legged, you can visit Roskilde Farmers Fair with over 90,000 visitors. Or the horse market, the Trucker Show, flea market, the hourse show, etc.

If you enjoy golf there are several golf courses: Roskilde Golf Club, Hedeland Golf Club, Ledreborg Palace Golf and Dragsholm Golf Club

If you want to see how we lived during the Viking Age and Stone Age, you can visit the Land of Legends offering amazing experiences from ancient times.

A final branch of the cultural tree of Roskilde is Musicon, a large area dedicated to concerts, dance performances, children’s theater, debates, art exhibitions, skateboarding, street parties, etc. A creative and artistic town in rapid expanding.

You will find a complete list of Roskilde’s fantastic cultural offerings at the event calendar.

With this colorful palette of possibilities our Bed and Breakfast is your natural choise when visiting Roskilde.
